Who are we?
Our information booth was used to help advise our fellow Marshall Eagles of who we are and what our intentions were to this school community. At this booth we explained what the Girls Build LA (GBLA) program is about, what our mission is, and what our project is. Some students were eager to sign up as they found out some of their fellow classmates were also doing this. We got sign ups from both middle schoolers and high schoolers. |
Tell us how you really feel
At our second booth, our survey booth, we had students fill out a 2-3 minute survey for GBLA. After the survey was filled out they each received a sweet treat! The survey consisted of questions asking how students felt on a daily basis. We wanted to gain knowledge of our school community and ways on how we help our school. Not only did we get the student body to fill it out, we (members of GBLA) also filled it out ourselves too. The survey was meant for Marshall students and helped them understand that they’re not alone and that we also struggle with mental health too. This survey was just a stepping stone to helped our team prepare for other future activities. |
You’re not alone!
Our last booth was the activity booth. Here, we had a poster with the phrase, “I’m not alone, I’m stressed because…” At the booth, we provided post-its notes for students to write their thoughts and feelings. Then they would put the post-it on the poster. If they wanted they could also read other student's responses too. This activity was meant to show to everyone and help them realize that they are not alone and that there are other people going through stuff as well. This activity was used to help convey to students you can always count on one another in times of low or hardships. |
