Students' experiencesAlthough we had to face a few obstacles to get to the panel, the visual presentation, and the overall message given by the panelists made the entire trip worth while, let alone a once in a life time experience. Thanks to all of the intelligent and brave panelists, my knowledge on the topics of mental health has grown exponentially. I find it so inspirational that some people who fall deep into themselves and their insecurities can find calamity in their lives, and then come back to help adolescents such as myself help fight against depression. I hope to use the information I learned to help further the knowledge of others, especially those that suffer from the topics that were discussed on the panel, such as anxiety, communication, and much more. I learned that there are limitless ways to help subside the feelings of depression, and that no one is alone through their feelings of loneliness and anxiety. There will always be someone to turn to.

Listening to the USC panelist was a once in a life time experience. I really enjoyed listening to the panelist and hearing what they had to say about mental health. It is good to know that there are resources and even people willing to help you in times of need or low points of your life. Also, listening to one of the speakers talk about her mental issues and what she was going through was really heartwarming and inspirational to hear. Hardly do people open up and talk about something personal and when they do they become very shy about it. But with this speaker she was so confident and proud of what she overcame and I really admire that of her. The whole experience was worth wild and I couldn’t have asked for a better field trip to attend. I would highly recommend if they do this again next year!
